From Rigel, Orion Doesn’t Exist: A New Perspecive on Your Problems

We admire the constellation Orion. Honored in mythology as a demi-god, Orion is said to have been able to easily conquer the wild world around him.

“So great were his achievements and so loyal was he to Artemis, that he was placed among the stars upon his death.”

From Earth, people have venerated the constellation Orion for eons. Interestingly, however, Orion does not exist from every vantage point in the universe. Of the arbitrary stars that make up what the ancients projected to be the legendary hunter named Orion, the star named Rigel is the brightest. If we traveled to Rigel, we would find that we could not see the Orion constellation; just as we cannot see the myriad of potential constellations in which our own sun resides.

The constellation Orion does not exist from everywhere. Neither do our problems. Seen from multiple vantage points, our own problems can morph, shrink, and even disappear. With that in mind, what if we journeyed into the depths of our own psyches to conquer our private, internal wild worlds? By traveling to the depths of who we are and finding a different vantage point, we can change the way in which we view our conscious problems.

From Rigel, Orion doesn’t exist. Here’s to finding the arbitrary spot in the depths of our own psyches that can morph, shrink, or even erase the problems we face. We might have to look deeply or travel far within, but such a place of peace does exist.
